The manufacture of high-stress components in military aircraft, airborne weapon systems, space vehicles, satellites, and commercial aircraft requires the most exacting standards imaginable. For nearly four decades, these standards have been EBTEC's standard operating procedures.

We are uniquely qualified to work on the full range of component parts in power plants, airframes, and accessories. Our EB and laser services are performed in accordance with all applicable military and civilian specifications.

We also perform specialized complete overhauls of turbine components, air seals, and compressor spacers. EBTEC is a certified FAA Limited-Specialized Service provider rated for overhaul and repair of aircraft components, such as turbine diaphragms, turbine and compressor blades, engine components, inner and outer cases, structural airframe members, and wire buildup of worn air seals and spacers. We can salvage and repair many worn or damaged parts and assure complete inspection and traceability of components.

Electron Beam Welding

EBTEC performs a wide range of repairs on power plants components, airframes, and other component parts and accessories. EB welding gives engineers and designers unmatched flexibility to work with the materials best suited for any aerospace application. Often, it provides the only way to reliably join exotic materials such as Columbium, Inconel, Hastelloy, Waspalloy, and Titanium. Other parts, such as mechanical jet engine controls assembled from separate shafts and tips, are aligned and laser tack welded in preparation for EB welding. EBTEC's large chamber EB welder allows for large component assemblies not normally processed.

• Stator assemblies
• Turbine diaphragms
• Airframes
• Radar panels
• Nozzles
• Fuel floats
• In-flight refueling components
• Bearing Housings
• Seals and spacers
• Combustion cases

Laser Cutting

Non-metals that could damage or be damaged by contact machining tools can be laser cut, resulting in low edge stress and high quality, narrow kerf cuts. In fact, the manufacture of many non-metal components is possible only by using laser cutting. EBTEC also processes a vast variety of metallic components in most material groups. The accuracy, repeatability, and low cost of laser processing in many cases can substantially reduce manufacturing costs.

• Combustion cases
• Spacer bands
• Impellers
• Blade and vanes
• Engine rings
• Non-metals (plastics, Kevlar®, composites, etc.)
• Fuel system components
• Turbine exhaust cases

Laser Drilling

The ability to drill at almost any entrance angle makes lasers ideal for drilling holes in parts involved in monitoring or controlling air flow.

• Cooling tubes
• Combustor liners
• Blades
• Vanes
• Fuel manifolds

Certified Flow Checking

EBTEC can confirm the exact correlation between air flow and hole size, a crucial process and quality control issue in many turbine engine components on in-house air flow equipment.
